  Whilst UPVC windows require very little maintenance, occasional cleaning of the frames with warm, soapy water or a mild non-abrasive cleaner on a quarterly basis will keep them looking good for years to come. Any stubborn marks can be removed with a cream cleaner, but be sure to rinse afterwards with water.

The espagnolette locking system will work at its best if the moving rollers are lubricated once a year with a light household oil, WD40 or similar.

Similarly the locking slots in the window frame can be lightly greased to ensure years of smooth operation

There is no maintenance required for the friction hinges. however they are adjustable. The settings at which our windows are supplied is usually right for all normal conditions, but if you wish to make the opening easier, partially unscrew the adjuster which is located in the centre of the moving nylon plate in the frame runner.

Equally if when the window is open it is subject to strong winds simply tighten the same screw slightly to stop the window from moving.

Some of your upstairs windows maybe fitted with a special egress hinge, which allows the window to open fully to 90 and allow easy evacuation in the event of a fire or other emergency.

To clean the outside of the glass from inside these windows may be fitted with an "Easy Clean" option.  To operate this ;

1. Open the window

2. Press the button on the base and hold down

3. Slide the sash Across to enable the cleaning of the window.

4. Maintenance is exactly the same as the friction stay.
